Disappointing illustrations

I was disappointed with the illustrations of this book and the lace of modifications for those with issues, especially being this is marketed as "Healing yoga" the actually content (written information is solid and good) however applying the ideas is (in my personal opinion) poor. why is he demonstrating advance poses without modifications being shown? I would not teach most of the poses he illustrates, especailly if concerned with back pain. Some of the poses I am references are: Ankles behind the neck pose in a sitting position.. Really are you kidding most of my students if not all would laugh.. others include: A challenging lounge with a twist, I would never offer this to someone with back issues, another is Headstand. I wish he would think about the poses he picks more thoroughly, because he is a doctor, people look up to him, but I am not going to recommend this book to my students. (due to the illustrations) they say a picture is worth a 1,000 words, thus to me, the illustrations are extremely important in getting your point across

clear and useful ways yoga is healing

Loren offers simple, clear and useful ways yoga is healing. As a yoga teacher, this book will be a valuable resource to analyze and address common conditions my students frequently bring to class. Unique self-diagnostic tools are practical and reassuring. And the TFS prescription for rotator cuff problems is brilliant! It is certainly a wonderful example of how yoga can be cure as well as healing. Loren sprinkles his own experience into the well written prose which makes it a fun read.

Fabulous, Well-Written Introduction to Yoga for Health Issues

I thought with health concerns: herniated discs, osteoporosis, and rotary cuff issues, I could not do yoga. I was hoping to find a book on yoga I could do in my home. With Dr. Fishman's clear, well-illustrated book, I can. Already improved my range of motion with arm with rotary cuff issues.
