High Intensity Workouts for shorter periods

I’m one of those plodders the author, Linda Westwood talks about in her book. It takes me close to two hours to walk six miles every morning. I’ve been doing this for over a year and although I have lost weight and trimmed my fat, it seems like I’m not really burning up the calories I thought I would putting in so much time with it. This 7-step system to burn fat faster is just what I needed. I finished reading this book last night and have already put what I’ve learned to use. The book tells you have to burn up to 300% more calories in your workouts. And the nice thing is you can do it faster through High Intensity Interval Training. Shorter, high intensity workouts instead of long, boring low intensity workouts. Taking two hours to walk six miles is low intensity to say the least. There are lots of exercises in this book, which you’d have to read the book and actually hang out with it for a while to get the full benefit, but what I did is to add a high intensity aspect to my walk. What I did, as suggested by the author, was to begin by briskly walking at my normal pace and then break into a run as fast as I could go (I rarely jog) for maybe 1/4th of a mile. That’s the high intensity part. And then bring it back to a moderate pace. That’s it. I noticed right away that I was doing something different.

Highly motivating and great ideas to burn more fat, boost your metabolism and on how to get fit with someone such as me with little time. Great variation of routines and combinations for people of any exercise level that can be done in the gym, outside or in the comfort of your own home. Thanks Linda Westwood for encouraging me to get back into the fitness game.
