I’d never heard of a foam roller before so was glad I bought this book as the exercises are easy ...

I decided to buy the book as I had developed sciatica, and my doctor mentioned a foam roller as the latest thing for self-physical therapy. I’d never heard of a foam roller before so was glad I bought this book as the exercises are easy to do and well-illustrated. The book also provided a background in the topic and helped me what to look for when buying a foam roller.
There are also chapters on different sports e.g. tennis, football, jogging, golf, swimming. The book also describes the benefits of foam rolling if you have poor posture, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and sciatica.
I highly recommend the book if you have trigger point pain, but also if you just want to follow a physical therapy program.

Most of the useful info could be condensed into a couple pages and I didn't find anything that wasn't available on plenty of websites. The pictures aren't very useful for figuring out how to make the subtle changes to isolate different areas for different positions. In fact for similar exercises, the exact same picture is used. Chapter 2 provides some brief and rather silly definitions of what sports involve and a short list of possibly helpful muscle groups to work on, but without much of any rational. For example for Golf: "This is not only a ball sport that involves competing players, but is also a program that players can benefit with foam rolling". This chapter is so weirdly written that it makes me wonder if this could be a bot generated book.
